“Never in 100 years did I think something like that could happen to me,” the victim told CBS4’s Carey Codd in an exclusive interview.
The victim told CBS4 about what happened after surveillance cameras at his Hallandale beach condo captured him and a woman arriving there around 4:40 Sunday morning. He says they went up to his condo and she asked for a drink then she gave him a drink from her glass.
“I said, ‘I don’t want nothing to drink,’” he said. “She said, ‘Nah, drink it. I’m drinking, you drink.’ After that, I was out.”
The victim believes the woman drugged him and he says that when he awoke hours later, his gold Rolex Replica was long gone. Police say surveillance cameras captured the woman leaving about 35 minutes after she arrived. The victim says that his recently deceased wife got the watch for him before she died.
“She bought that for me,” he said. “That’s what’s hard for me.”
The victim says the woman also made off with a Breitling watch worth thousands. And, in hindsight, the victim believes the suspect and a possible accomplice might have picked him out earlier in the evening.
“They must have been scoping me out all night,” he said.
He says people need to be careful and not be so trusting. He has little hope that he’ll see his watches again but he does hope someone will watch this video, recognize this woman and turn her in.
“She needs to be caught before she does this to somebody else,” he said.
Hallandale Beach Police told CBS4 News that they are comparing notes with other law enforcement agencies to try and figure out who this woman is and whether she’s done this to anyone else.
